Springing Ahead with Big Boobs

Spring is in the air. We can all feel it. The weather is getting warmer. The sky is getting bluer. The sun is setting later. And I don't know about you, but it certainly makes me want to dress up in fun flirty colors that make me look exactly how Spring makes me feel. One BIG problem... well actually two big problems... my boobs. I'm a 34DD, and don't get me wrong, I love 'em. That's right, I said it. I LOVE MY BIG BOOBS. Society making boobs into this whole taboo subject that woman should be ashamed to show off is so absolutely ridiculous, but also a subject for another post. Getting back to my original point, despite loving what I've got up top, it limits what kind of tops I can wear.

Take for instance what I wore Saturday night for my brother's birthday dinner.
I got all dressed up in beautiful bright pops of color.

I'm wearing Maybelline's Lash Sensational Mascara, and Black Eyeliner that I not only used to line my eyes, but I also used it as my Eyeshadow. Such a perfect little beauty secret for making getting ready easier and faster. Just take your Eyeliner Pencil and randomly run the pencil all over your eyelids. Then use Q-Tips to smudge the color and fix any imperfections. The color I'm wearing on my lips is from Victoria's Secret. It's their Matte Lip Crayon. The Earrings are Bauble Bar.

So Cheerful! I loved it!

But then it was time to take some full body pictures to show off the whole outfit, and there was just something wrong. Why wasn't the shirt laying right? Why didn't it look effortlessly flowing? Why wasn't this the easy breezy look I wanted it to be?

And then it hit me! My Boobs.
As you see, I wore this perfectly pink peasant shirt that I got last year at the New York Renaissance Faire I go to annually up in Tuxedo, NY
You can also see the outline of my body because of the slight sheerness of the shirt. Little Waist + Huge Boobs does not = effortlessly flowing. How could it? I've got these two huge melons sitting on my chest stopping the flow of the shirt. At first I couldn't understand why the shirt looked so disproportionate... the shirt seemed to be so wide at the top, but the bottom wasn't matching up. Again, after really looking at the pictures, I realize it was my boobs. My boobs made the shirt protrude, for lack of a better word, out, and then my small waist allowed the shirt to lay the way it was supposed to. Normally a woman in this case would strap on a belt, but that's not the look I wanted g'dammit!

So what's the moral of the story? The moral is, a lot of "fashion people" will tell you, you have to dress for your body-type. And that's true, but why should that mean anyone should have to miss out on wearing certain pieces of clothing that they really REALLY love? It shouldn't. And that's what I'm here to tell you. We all want to look our best, but you know what... Embrace YOU. OK, so my boobs made the shirt disproportionate. At the end of the day, I'm ok with that. Not everything is going to look great on me, and sometimes I'm not going to be ok with it. But when an outfit makes you FEEL good, let it. You go ahead and rock that look!

Just like I wound up doing with my difficult breezy outfit ;)

And no matter what our body-type, we can all always count on having no difficulty wearing shoes and purses!
