Christmas time is here...

...happiness and cheer, fun for that children call their favorite time of year!

I hope you read that hearing the voices of Charlie Brown's Peanuts from A Charlie Brown Christmas because that's how I wrote it :)

Christmas time is here, and I wish I could say I was filled with happiness and cheer, but honestly I'm just going through the motions. It's not that I'm not exactly enjoying myself, because, once I actually push myself to do something, or should I say, once my wonderful husband pushes me --because he knows it will cheer me up-- I actually do have fun. We went to the annul Ugly Christmas Sweater Party at the Plattdeutsche Park Beergarden and trust you me I did not want to go. I did plan on going because we go every year, but this year I just haven't been in a very "Christmas Mood". My leg still hurts from the muscle pull. By the way, I did finally see a doctor about that and the first thing she wanted to rule out was a blood clot. Apparently, it's not uncommon for the symptoms to be similar (my mother-in-law had the same thing happen to her and the first thing her doctor was worried about was a blood clot too) neither of us had blood clots, but I did pull my calf muscle and all the doctor said was that it was just going to take time and to stay off it, elevate it, and stretch it a little everyday. No quick-fix. I digress, but like I was saying, my leg still hurts and I'm just very tired. I feel like I've just been in a mad dash to get EVERYTHING done before Christmas since the day after Thanksgiving. Usually I'm the type of person that buys presents for people all year-round-- if I see something someone I know will like, I'll just buy it and hold onto it until Christmas or their next big gift-giving event and I'm certainly done with Christmas gift shopping way before Thanksgiving-- this year? Nada. I'm almost done with Christmas shopping, but I still have to pick up my husband's last gift and a couple of gifts for the "Yankee Swap" we're doing at my brother and sister-in-law's house on Christmas eve, the vodka for my famous Peppermint Eggnog Martinis, a gift for my mailman, and then the ingredients for my Baked Ziti that I'm making on Saturday for the Christmas dinner my husband and I are having with my mother-in-law and my mom. Usually my husband works on Christmas, he works every holiday actually. I think I've mentioned this before, but I'll say it now anyway because I'm very proud of my husband, he's a Stationary Engineer for Local 30 (shout-out to Local 30!) and by law two Engineers have to be in the building 24/7/365, but this year he managed to have off and it's the first Christmas we'll be spending together in.... um... 7 years? About that. It's been a long time. So on Christmas day, we're just going to stay in and spend the day together. That certainly gives me Christmas cheer :) But until then it's just been gogogo!!

We finally picked-up our Christmas tree on Sunday and finished decorating the tree and the house last night. The results...

Leather Anniversary

This pasted November 11th was my husband's and my 3rd wedding anniversary. Leather being the traditional 3rd wedding anniversary present... and with my love of traditions... my husband and I exchanged beautiful leather-made presents.

My husband always complains about how cold his hands get in the winter, but he hates the bulk of thick gloves. So I thought that these leather gloves would make the perfect present, and he loves them.

Beautiful Brown Leather Gloves Lined with Cashmere

Now for my husband, knowing my love of shoes, it wasn't hard for him to decide what kind of leather present to give me.

Stop Following the Same Old Pattern

To say that I love leggings would be an understatement. I wear them all the time in the winter. I love my plain black ones that turn any outfit to an appropriate cold weather outfit; I love my fleece ones that keep me extra warm; I love my pink ones and gray ones to add a little variety; but now, I especially love these...

Erin Go Bragh!

I'm not Irish, but my husband is half Irish so I kind of consider myself Irish by marriage... at least on St. Patrick's Day that is. I know that St. Patty's was last month, but there were a few things I wanted to mention about it so I figured a post about it was better late than never.

On the Saturday of the weekend before St. Patrick's Day my brother, Eddie, and his girlfriend, Soledad, invited us over their apartment to celebrate. It was actually our first time seeing their place because they had just moved in a few months ago so it was great not only celebrating the day with them, but also seeing their new place. P.S. Eddie and Soledad's cornbeef dinner was the best I have ever had!

I don't own many green colored clothes, but I do own some St. Patty accessories so I gathered them all up and wore them to bring green into my outfit.

The bottom picture is obviously not a picture of me... that's my puppy nephew, Bruno :)

Trendy Tuesday

I've been hauling super hot trends with awesome hot deals to get ready for a great hot summer!

A couple of posts ago I showed you the new bathing suit I bought from Victoria's Secret online. The bathing suit top was sized by bra size so I thought the sizing wasn't going to be an issue and that buying a bathing suit online wasn't going to be a problem, but the 32D turned out to be way too small. The band was too tight and the cups did not cover me well at all. So I went to the Victoria's Secret store near my house to exchange the top for a bigger size. I wound up having to get a 34DD, and I'm so happy with the new top and am so comfortable in it.

I'm in a Spring Time State of Mind!

I am so over winter! Between the freezing temperatures, all the snow and the terrible way our new Mayor handles the snow removal, or rather lack thereof, I can absolutely not wait another minute for spring and then summer to arrive.

Friday night, my family and I went out to celebrate my brother Eddie's birthday (Happy Birthday Eddie!!). With all the gloominess that this winter has brought, I decided to brighten up my spirits and bring bright, summery colors into my life with my outfit.

Long Time, No See

I have to apologize for my long absence. So much as been going on and it's amazing how much time flies by when you're busy. Birthdays, family get-togethers, and just life in general sweeps you away and can sometimes sweep you away from certain obligations... but this blog is important to me and I do not want so much time to go by again in between by blog posts. Last time I posted, I said that I was going to show you guys the clothes I picked up with the giftscards I received for Christmas... and I'm going to do just that now.

My mother-in-law gave me a giftcard for H&M and here's what I bought:

New Years Eve is over, I had a nice time...Did you, Did you, have a ball on New Year’s Eve?

Well the holiday season is over... well technically over, but not for me and my family anyways. I'm Italian and the Christmas celebration doesn't end until after January 6th. So I'll be taking all my decorations down on January 7th. But for the rest of the world Christmas is over and the New Year has arrived. I can't believe it's 2014 already. Where does the time go? I hope you all had a wonderful holiday. I certainly did. On Christmas Eve my family had our big Christmas fish fest over my brother and sister-in-law's house. The food was absolutely delicious, and I made my famous Peppermint Eggnog Martinis...
